Dmitry Voropaev is the leading tenor soloist of the Mariinsky Theater. He has collaborated with such conductors as Valery Gergiev, Pierre Boulez, Jesus Lopez Cobos, Kazushi Ono, Gianandrea Nozeda, Eri Klas, Leo Kremer, Alexander Titov, Alexander Dmitriev, Vasily Petrenko, Dan Ettinger.

Mr. Voropaev was born into a professional musician’s family in Baku. He graduated from the Chorus School of the Academic Glinka Capella with distinction in 1998 and in 2003
completed his conducting training in the St Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatoire. He is a prize-winner at the International Plácido Domingo Operalia Vocal Competition in 2004, the Mirjam Helin International Singing Competition in 2004 and the International Rimsky-Korsakov Young Opera Singers’ Competition in 2000.
